Activate and Heal Chakra Points with Essential Oils, Crystals and Mantras

In this post I have included information about seven chakra points on the body and how to balance them. I have selected helpful essential oils in order to to support opening, activating, balancing and healing each chakra point. You will find included information on crystals, mantras and how to tell if your chakra points are in or out of balance. I hope you find this post helpful along your path of healing and self discovery.


Root Chakra, also known as the base chakra which is situated at the base of the spine. It is red in color and it’s associated with the Earth element. Root chakra is related to all Earthly matters such as safety, shelter, survival, money and the physical body. Psychological influences of this chakra include grounding and letting go of emotional tension. Psychological imbalance is linked to accidents, dependency, identity crisis, and a weak ego. In the modern era, this is the energy center which is the most taxed by the stressors of everyday life.
If you want to know if this chakra is balanced ask yourself how secure do you feel when it comes to your relationships, home life and work? When it comes to essential oils, Frankincense is a wonderful oil for this chakra point, it promotes calming and centering. You may also use Clove essential oil to stimulate kundalini, promote inner strength, for protection and to revitalize physical energy. If you would like to use healing crystals include Bloodstone, Onyx, and Hematite. Transformational Mantra for Root Chakra: "I am safe; I am loved".

Sacral Chakra is the second chakra point located below the navel. Second chakra is thought of as the seat of the emotions. It’s color is orange and it’s associated with the water element. Sacral chakra relates to creativity, emotions, desires and sexuality. The psychological influences of this chakra are sexuality and creativity. Imbalance of this chakra is linked to a weak personality, blocked creativity, depression, hysteria and an inability to be sexually or emotionally intimate. This chakra, when balanced, provides us with the creative inspiration and abundant sensuality.
If you want to know if your second chakra is balanced ask yourself how do you feel in regards to your creativity and your emotional state of being? Are you an emotionally stable person? For the sacral chakra we can use orange essential oil to promote joy and creativity. Jasmine for artistic development and Ylang Ylang to promote passion of love and true emotion. Crystals that will activate and heal this chakra point are Carnelian, Orange Calcite, and Fire Agate. Transformational Mantra for Sacral Chakra: “I relish my creativity and sensuality”.

Solar Plexus Chakra is the third chakra located above the navel. This chakra is considered as the seed of power and vitality. Solar Plexus chakra is yellow or gold and is associated with the fire element. Solar Plexus represents power, confidence, self-esteem, vitality and willpower. This chakra is associated with clairsentience and is a major psychic reception point. Psychological influences of this chakra include feeling empowered and being in control. A psychological imbalance in the solar chakra is linked to excessive anger or fear, addictive behaviors, depression and sleep problems. This energy center aids in resolving karma and processing deeply rooted and outmoded emotions.
If you want to find out if your third chakra is balanced ask yourself “how confident do I feel within myself? For solar plexus chakra we can use Cedarwood essential oil to promote courage, comfort and confidence in who we are. Rosemary to promote action and boost self confidence. When using crystals for solar plexus Topaz, Citrine and Amber are perfect. Transformational Mantra for Solar Plexus: “I manifest my desires with ease”.

Heart Chakra is the fourth chakra located in the center of the chest. Heart chakra is associated with the color green or pink and is of the air element. This chakra is associated with universal goodwill, it represents compassion, harmony, unconditional love, healing and relationships. Psychological influences of this chakra include understanding, compassion and unconditional love. Psychological imbalance is linked to inner conflict, relationship problems, self destructive tendencies and feelings of loneliness. It is the heart chakra that allows us to connect with the energy of love, innocence and purity.
If you want to know if this chakra is balanced ask yourself if you find it easy to accept yourself and others? For the heart I would recommend Jasmine to promote heartfelt expressions and open up the heart chakra. I would also include Lavender and Rose for this chakra which open up our hearts to our destiny and promote love and compassion. Crystals for heart chakra can include Rose Quartz, Emerald, and Pearl. Transformational Mantra for the Heart Chakra: “I love and accept myself”.

Throat Chakra is the fifth chakra situated at the center of the throat, it’s color is light blue. Throat chakra is associated with sound, self expression, communication, creativity and clairaudience. Psychological influences of this chakra are trust, expression, creativity, and communication. Psychological imbalance of throat chakra is linked to an inability to express oneself in words, poor memory, and doubt as to the sincerity of others. The strengths of this chakra, when balanced, are communication and true self expression.
If you want to know if this chakra is balanced ask yourself if you find it easy to express yourself creatively as well as in communication. For throat chakra we can use Peppermint which opens communication with our higher selves, Rosemary to receive spiritual communication and Sage to promote authentic, enthusiastic and harmonious expression. Healing crystals for throat include Turquoise, Blue Lace Agate and Blue Topaz.
Transformational Mantra for throat chakra: “I speak my truth with clarity and ease”.

Third Eye Chakra also known as the brow is the sixth chakra located at the center of the forehead. It’s color is indigo and it’s associated with the light element. This chakra is associated with the inner seeing, (clairvoyance), intuition, higher consciousness, inner guidance, perception and discernment. Psychological influences of this chakra are insight and clarity, as well as interest in spiritual issues. Psychological imbalance is linked to confusion, poor memory, inability to focus and detachment from reality. This chakra allows one to more readily access intuitive visions, feelings, thoughts and sounds.
If you want to know if your third eye chakra is balanced I would ask if you are able to access your intuition and how confident are you following your inner voice? Do you trust in your inner visions? For this chakra I would use Sage essential oil to strengthen the inner eye as well as see clearly. Jasmine to see deeper truths and Peppermint to aid in inspiration. Healing crystals to include for the third eye chakra are Amethyst, Azurite and Lapis Lazuli. Transformational Mantra for the third eye chakra: “I trust in my intuition”.

Crown Chakra is the seventh energy point it is located at the top of the head, it’s color is violet or white. Crown chakra is considered as the seat of consciousness, It is associated with thought, wisdom and spiritual insight. This chakra links us with the Universe, the infinite and higher consciousness. Psychological influences of this chakra are intuition, being open to and having faith, and connection to higher realms. Psychological imbalance is linked to being gullible, having nightmares, multiple personalities, and being spiritually closed off. The crown chakra connects one with the Divine and all that is.
For crown chakra I would ask how connected do you feel to the Universe? What are your thoughts on spirituality? When it comes to essential oils I would include Cedarwood, Lavender and Jasmine to strengthen spiritual awareness and the connection with Divine. Myrrh to build a bridge between physical and non-physical. I also like Rosemary for this one to help us remember our Divine path. Sandalwood for meditation and higher states of consciousness. When using crystals include Sapphire, Diamond and Clear Quartz.
Transformational Mantra for crown chakra: “I am pure love and light”.
Remember when applying essential oils on skin it is important to use carrier oils as some oils might irritate the skin or have contraindications, always ask for professional advice if you are not familiar working with the oils.
